Executive Business Partner to the CEO

  • Gusto ---
  • San Francisco Bay Area

At Gusto, we’re committed to hiring builders who derive joy from our company’s mission: to create a world where work empowers a better life. As an Executive Business Partner to the CEO, you will have far-reaching impact across the organization with a front-row seat to the inner-workings of a high-growth startup. This is a strategic, 1-1 partnership that requires thoughtfulness, confidentiality, and a supreme bias for optimization.

We value superb communication skills — verbal and written.  The ideal partner can confidently run executive staff meetings and navigate complex calendaring, with an ability to gracefully context-switch between both with ease. As a trusted member of the office of the CEO, you will be a confidante on all topics relating to company operations, prioritization, and feedback. Above all, your approach to the role should be to think like a business-builder. The office of the CEO at Gusto is a three-person team made up of the CEO, EBP, and Chief of Staff. You will be a key stakeholder in developing impactful priorities and high-visibility projects across the office of the CEO.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day

  • Represent the CEO through phone, email and chat with internal and external stakeholders including investors, business partners, and c-level executives
  • Plan team off-sites and team-building events
  • Build cross-functional internal relationships, representing the office of the CEO
  • Prioritize a complex calendar, and implement systems to help scale the office of the CEO
  • Plan travel effectively, at least monthly
  • Act as a key stakeholder on special projects as needed

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally supporting a CEO or C-suite member in a 1-1 partnership at high-growth organizations
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented — you must love creating order out of chaos
  • Experience organizing team events
  • Intellectual curiosity paired with a high growth-mindset
  • High EQ and empathy for others
  • Mastery of Google Apps
