Product Strategy Specialist
Department: Production Control
Reports To: Planning Manager
Position summary: The Product Strategy Specialist is responsible for creating revenue maximizing pricing and revenue management strategies for Delta's customer choice and content additive product lines (including Basic Economy, Comfort+, bag fees and change fees, among others) through quantitative analysis with a focus on price and customer segmentation, competitive positioning, revenue performance related to channels of distribution and expanding our understanding of the market place within assigned geographical scope. .
Position Responsibilities: Include The Following
- Proactively searching for revenue opportunities within assigned market scope
- Working on ad-hoc projects as assigned by manager
- Measuring revenue impact, and effectiveness of market-level pricing initiatives
- Developing strategic product expansion and/or performance improvement plans and presenting results of analysis to upper management.
- Acting as the liaison between Product Strategy and counterparts in other groups and departments
- Communicating flight/market performance feedback to affected departments including Sales, Marketing, Reservations and Airport Customer Service
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Preferred Major in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Operations Research, Transportation Science, or related quantitative discipline. At least 3 years work experience.
- MBA or post-graduate degree in similar analytic fields preferred.
- horough and proven understanding of market, financial, and economic analysis methods.
- Must be skilled with spreadsheet analysis and must have experience building quantitative analysis models in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in SAS and Hyperion/Brio highly desired.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional divisions within Delta. Airline industry experience strongly preferred.
- Must seek challenging, analytical work and must possess the ability to communicate detailed analytical data through oral and written means to all levels of management.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
